Slavko Brill

Slavko Brill (1900 - 1943) was a Croatian Jewish sculptor and ceramics artist born in Nova Gradiška.〔(Mirjam Rajner ''Between Local and Universal: Daniel Kabiljo, a Sephardi artist in Sarajevo on the Eve of the Holocaust'' pdf )〕 He graduated in 1926 at Art Academy in Zagreb. He was incarcerated by the Ustaše in Jasenovac concentration camp where he was forced to feature along with some other Jewish artists including Daniel Ozmo and Daniel Kabiljo in a propaganda film. He died from tuberculosis in 1943.〔〔Freidenreich, Harriet Pass (1979) The Jews of Yugoslavia: A Quest for Community. Philadelphia: Jewish Publication Society of America. "... Yugoslav Jewry produce a group of writers who dealt with Jewish themes, it also spawned several competent Jewish artists. ... emerged Danijel Ozmo (1912- 1942) and Danijel Kabiljo-Danilus (1894-1944), and from Zagreb, Slavko Brill."〕
